Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Childcare Programs
What ages do you accept at Diversity Childcare Centre?
We welcome children starting at 9 months through to Pre-K age. Programs are organized into four rooms: the Infant Room for babies from 9 months, the Toddler Room for children ages 1 to 3, the Preschool and Early Learning Room for children ages 3 to 5, and the Pre-K Room for children preparing to enter the formal school system. Each room uses an age-appropriate curriculum so children are always in the right environment for their stage of development. Is the Abbotsford location currently accepting new enrollments?
Our Abbotsford location is currently at full capacity and is not accepting new enrollments at this time. Our Mission location, which opened in the first week of August 2026, is accepting new registrations. The Mission facility offers the same quality childcare and inclusive environment that made our Abbotsford centre popular with Fraser Valley families. What are the operating hours at the Mission and Abbotsford locations?
Our Mission location, opening August 2026, operates from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The earlier start time was chosen to accommodate parents who commute along the Fraser Valley highway corridor. Our Abbotsford location is open from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Both locations maintain the same closing time, giving families reliable coverage across the full standard workday. How does the centre handle children with food allergies or special dietary needs?
Each child receives an individualized meal plan that accommodates cultural dietary requirements and allergies. Our approach to food is part of our broader commitment to personalized care, ensuring that what a child eats at our centre reflects their family's values and health requirements. Specific dietary needs are discussed and documented before a child begins attending so our educators are fully prepared from day one. What safety and health protocols are in place at the centre?
All educators are trained in CPR and First Aid. We follow strict hygiene protocols that include mandatory handwashing for both staff and children throughout the day, along with regular sanitization of surfaces and toys. Our facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, which is something parents consistently notice and appreciate. These protocols are in place at both our Abbotsford and Mission locations. What is yoga time, and how does it fit into the daily program?
Yoga time is a regular daily activity that combines gentle movement with mindfulness. It is designed to help children build body awareness, develop focus, and carry a calm, positive energy through the rest of their day. It sits alongside other daily activities including outdoor play, drawing, arts and crafts, and interactive group learning as part of our play learn grow childcare approach. These activities are woven into each day across all age groups in age-appropriate ways. Can I visit the centre before deciding to enroll my child?
Yes, free tours are available for families who would like to see the centre, meet Teacher Pawan, and learn more about our childcare environment. We understand that leaving your child in someone else's care for the first time is a significant decision, and a tour can help families become more familiar with our facilities, routines, and approach. Free tours are available at both our Abbotsford and Mission locations. How does the centre support children from diverse cultural backgrounds?
Diversity is central to everything we do, not just in name but in practice. Our curriculum incorporates diverse books and carefully selected toys and activities that reflect a wide range of cultural backgrounds and experiences. We also accommodate individual cultural dietary requirements through personalized meal plans. The goal is for every child who walks through our doors to feel genuinely seen, included, and celebrated for who they are, regardless of their background.
