Childcare FAQ Abbotsford and Mission: Your Questions Answered

We welcome children starting at 9 months of age. Our Infants Room serves babies from 9 months with gentle, individualized care focused on sensory exploration and personalized feeding and napping schedules. The Toddlers Room serves children ages 1 to 3, with a focus on play-based social and motor skill development. The Preschool Room serves ages 3 to 5, including after-school care, and focuses on kindergarten readiness through early literacy and numeracy. Our Pre-K Room supports advanced critical thinking and emotional intelligence to prepare children for a confident transition into the formal school system.

Our Abbotsford location is open from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Our Mission location opens earlier, at 6:00 AM, and closes at 5:30 PM. The Mission location's 6:00 AM start time was specifically chosen to serve families commuting along the Fraser Valley highway corridor, making it a practical option for working parents who need reliable early-morning care before heading out for the day.

The Abbotsford location is currently at full capacity and is not accepting new enrollments at this time. Our Mission location, which opened in the first week of August 2026, is actively accepting new children across all age groups.

We take individualized dietary care seriously. Each child's meal plan is developed to accommodate cultural dietary preferences as well as confirmed food allergies. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all menu, we work with families to ensure that what a child eats at our centre aligns with what they eat at home. This is part of our broader commitment to inclusion and making every child feel genuinely at home in our care.

Cleanliness and safety are a foundational priority at Diversity Childcare Centre. All staff and children follow mandatory handwashing routines, and surfaces and toys are sanitized on a regular basis. Every educator on our team is trained in CPR and First Aid. Our facilities are maintained to a high standard of hygiene, and this commitment is reflected in consistent feedback from families who describe our spaces as impeccably neat and well-kept.

Our daily programming blends play-based and structured learning to support the whole child. Activities include yoga time, exercise, drawing, arts and crafts, and outdoor play alongside curriculum-driven work in literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving. We also use diverse books and carefully selected toys and games that reflect a range of cultural backgrounds, supporting our inclusive approach. The balance of free exploration and guided learning shifts by age group, with older children in the Pre-K Room receiving more structured preparation for kindergarten.

Yes. We offer free tours as a standing promotion, specifically because seeing the space in person makes a real difference for parents, especially those placing a child in outside care for the first time. Walking through the centre gives you a chance to meet Teacher Pawan, see the bright and welcoming environment firsthand, and ask any questions specific to your child's needs. Tours are available at both our Abbotsford and Mission locations.
